IEW Writing Levels and Courses

Year 1 Level A Structure & Style: This is the best place to start for students in grades 3 - 5 who are new to IEW.

Year 2 Level A Structure & Style: Grades 5-6 who have one year experience with IEW.

AND

Fix It! Grammar: Students hunt for and correct errors in daily passages that cumulatively tell a story.

Year 1 Level B Structure & Style: Students reading at a 6–8 grade level will take delight in these humorous, incremental, and effective writing lessons.

Year 2 Level B Structure & Style: Grades 7-9 who have at least one year experience with IEW.

AND

Fix It! Grammar: Refines concepts taught in previous levels and explains additional comma rules, various phrasal/clausal constructions, quotation punctuation, indefinite/demonstrative/reflexive pronouns, and more.

U.S. History-Based Writing Lessons is geared for students 7th- 8th grade who have at least one year experience with IEW Structure and Style.

Travel back in time to early United States history! This theme-based writing curriculum allows students to delve into the excitement of explorers, battles, land expansion, famous ships, and founding fathers while learning to write with the Structure and Style® writing method. Offering a full year of instruction for students in grades 7–8, these lessons cover all nine IEW Units.

Writing Class Schedule

First come, first serve on the time slots that are open below for online & in-person (Tehachapi, CA) classes.

Writing Class Prices.

  • Online: Students will meet weekly for one hour on Zoom. There will be 6 students max. per class.

    In-Person: Students gather once a week at a location in Tehachapi, CA for one hour. There will be 10 students max. per class.

    Both online and in-person: Fees include grading and feedback on content and structure of writing. Students will complete weekly assignments via Google Classroom in both Structure & Style and Fix It! Grammar. Parents are responsible for making sure the students log in to class or attend in-person and complete assignments.

    $90 per month does not include student materials. Please refer to the “One time materials fee” below.
